Announced so Far

It goes without saying that the fantastic lineup of musical delicacies across the weekend represents the primary attraction at Hydro Connect. From international superstars such as Kasabian, Bloc Party and Sigur Ros, to the relatively obscure emerging sounds from the likes of Iglu & Hartly, Noah & The Whale and the whole gamut of artists on the Your Sound bandstand, Hydro Connect seeks to offer something for everyone.

If you've had a look at the lineup page and find yourself puzzling over some of the lesser-known band names, get yourself clicking on to the Artists page and gen up on all the important information, including links to artist websites, MySpace pages and more. Discover the next big thing by knowing your A-Lix from your Zoey Van Goey.

And when you're not revelling to the sounds of this vast selction of musical delights, you may well enjoy a stroll through the Circuses & Bread Field where you'll find better eats than you could throw a Michelin-starred Chef at. Local producers will be offering locally sourced food and drink in the Foods From Argyll tent, including a stunning selection of seafood from the crystal waters of Loch Fyne, water of life from Loch Fyne Whisky, lamb delights from Ifferdale Farm, organic beef and lamb from Barbreck Farm, lip-smackingly delicious cheese produced by Inverloch Cheese of Argyll and much much more. Whet your appetite by browsing through the Circuses And Bread Field, where the only requirement is a healthy appetite!

Winding down after a hectic day of musical mayhem and gourmet gorging is essential; ideal then that the Rest & Be Thankful Spa will be returning for Hydro Connect 2008, offering masssages and therapies, and hair and beauty treatments. Make sure you get in there early and book yours in advance, as they are sure to be popular.

If dancing and dressing up is your bag, make sure and head over to the Unknown Pleasures Tent to check out Vegas! (voted 'Best Club Night In Scotland' by The List). Expect showgirls, gambling and DJs serving up an intoxicating cocktail of hip tracks for hepcats. If more dancing is your bag, Club Noir (the world's biggest burlesque club) will tastefully set pulses racing with stripteasers, fetish artists and vaudeville acts performing to the sound of retro and modern dance music from across the decades, also in the Unknown Pleasures Tent.

If you get your kicks from the more surreal, ambient end of the spectrum, you'll be right at home in the Red Bull Forest Party, a kind of rustic, travelling journey of discovery set deep in the woods. 'Music, dancing, drinking and merrymaking' will all be on the agenda at 'the party that forgets its 2008'.
